After calling the hotel to find out exactly where they were located and being told "You can't miss us we are on the hill. It's a red roof with a white building." Um, yes actually we could miss them because it is hard to see a red roof in the dark.
We arrived at the hotel and upon parking the car and getting out we were immediately
impressed by the grandeur and majestic appearance of the hotel. We found our way to the front desk and felt somewhat under dressed due to all of the guests that were walking around in suits and beautiful evening wear.
We explained our situation to the clerk about being evacuated from our resort and he was very helpful and accommodating and had himself been displaced due to the wild fires. He assured us not to worry and that the hotel was working with several guests who also had been evacuated.
He gave us directions to where our room was and we were on our way, although we did have to return to him again because we were so tired that we were lost and confused as to what building our room was actually in.
Finally after two tries we arrived at our hotel room door, and upon entering were pleasantly surprised at the king size bed and so ready to fall onto it. At this point I had the worst headache I think I've ever had most likely due to the change in altitude.
We ended up in bed at 9:00 p.m. (which was really 11:00 p.m. our time), but still that was early for me We woke up early the next morning considering the time difference, and this was one of the first things I noticed (see photo below). Yikes, boy I'm glad we are getting a discount otherwise we couldn't afford to stay here.
